First week at (new) workplace

I guess I haven't really written about my new workplace and what's really gone on in there.

5 weeks on the job only and I already feel old, or like I've been there for at least a year. I don't know why it tends to be like that in every job I step into - if its because I pick up issues pretty quickly, get a sense of things, or simply coz so much has happened in the last 5 weeks I've been ard that its felt like ages. And nothing's really frazzled me - insecure bosses that blow up over every little thing, waiting hand and foot on prima donna-ish board members esp for study trips, etc - I look at my colleagues who face those situations and tell them that its just life. A similar version of that happens for me in relation to church activities too - the been there done that feeling comes back up again and again. But anyway, that's another story/post.

Its been in short, good so far. I enjoy the issues, the thinking and rationalising which is very different from the hard economic issues I used to deal with. People are different too - they have loong existential debates on the meaning of the project and original intent (comes close to meaning of life *hahahaaa*) which is boh fun and frustrating really. Fun to listen to and engage, but extremely frustrating when you need a decision made!! ah oh well. *shrug* Quite angsty, a little crazy, temperamental to say the least, and when tey have a point of view, BOY do they have a point of view!! (and make sue you keep hearing them).

But God's opened this door and I'm glad. I think the experiences in my previous workplace definitely prepared me for this one - the start-up environment, the pace, understanding the motivations of the different bosses (their insecurities, personla agendas, where they are coming from etc), and learning to manage all that for results. And He's obviously not done with me yet in the field of communications - coz it was handed right back to me when I stepped in on day one. I honestly didn't really want to do it, yet I recognise that I've had relevant experience in the area and I know how to get things done.

the BEST part about my new workplace, are the alleged "ghosts" in the building. *hahahaaa* apparently, coz its an old building and its "haunted", so no one comes in before 8am in the morning and leaves punctually before 7pm. I don't know if its all true coz I've never felt it myself, but hey, its great for me in terms of work life balance, so I'm just going with it for now. yay for me! =) actually, it'll be quite funny if its actually all just a rumour...... *muahahahaha*
